Enjoy an aperitivo at Bar Termini

Bar Termini
This Soho gem is a fantastic place to facilitate that lovely transition into the next stage of your evening. Decked out with dark wood and marble, Bar Termini positively oozes old Italian charm with a hint of glamour. Their speciality is a negroni (coming in at a reasonable £8) but there’s plenty of other delightful cocktails to explore. And it wouldn’t be a true Italian establishment without the offer of some delicious antipasti to accompany your tipple. The decidedly small (but stylish) menu offers burrata, caponata, charcuterie and the like. Just the thing to whet your appetite before the main event!

How to get there: Take the Northern line from London Waterloo to Leicester Square, then walk for around 5 minutes. The address is 7 Old Compton St, W1D 5JE.

Hop from Italy to the US and dine at Sophie’s Steakhouse

Sophies Steakhouse
Continuing with the theme of understated glamour, Sophie’s Steakhouse provides the perfect setting for an effortlessly elegant evening meal. With high ceilings, exposed brick walls and an opulent chandelier centrepiece, the decor alone is a thing of beauty. But what people really come for is their succulent dry-aged steaks, spectacular seafood and mean martinis. And with this SWR reward, you can enjoy 20% off the main menu on Sunday to Friday from 12-7pm. Need we say more?

How to get there: Take the Bakerloo line from London Waterloo to Piccadilly Circus, then walk for a couple of minutes. The address is 42-44 Great Windmill St, W1D 7NB.

Wes and Sandy’s pick of the week

Theatre
South Western Railway’s winged friends, Sandy and Wes are always on hand to provide their top London recommendations. Sandy is a culture vulture with a love for the arts, theatre and lunching with the girls, while Wes loves clubs, pubs and going to gigs with his mates. But one thing they can both agree on is their love of spending a night in front of the box. But you don’t necessarily have to be confined to your sofa to enjoy a bit of top-tier watching. Instead, why not catch a film at Regent Street’s independent cinema. Open as a theatre since 1848 and undergoing conversion to a permanent cinema in the 1920’s, the cinema is one of only few in the UK to screen 35mm and 4k digital films. So you can enjoy the very best current independent and studio releases, while immersed in rich historical surroundings. Find out what’s on here.

How to get there: Take the Bakerloo line from London Waterloo to Oxford Circus, then walk for a few minutes. The address is 307 Regent St., W1B 2HW.
