Berrylands station is closed for upgrades until Monday 28 September, and trains are not calling at the station.
The station’s two platforms are being fully replaced, and narrow sections of platform are being widened to improve safety and accessibility.
Further improvements, including new lighting, CCTV, customer information screens, help points and waiting shelters on both platforms, are also set to be completed at a later date.
On Monday 28 September, rail replacement bus services will end, and services between London Waterloo and Hampton Court will resume calling at Berrylands in both directions. The station’s ticket office, car park and toilet facilities will all reopen.
Staircases
During the construction of the new platforms, engineers conducted detailed surveys of the station’s two staircases, which highlighted that parts of their substructures had significantly deteriorated.
For the safety of our customers and colleagues, these staircases have been closed. Temporary staircases are being built for when the station re-opens to provide a safe and practical solution while we assess options to refurbish or replace the original structures.
If you’re travelling towards London Waterloo
During the closure, customers travelling from Berrylands towards London Waterloo should use the rail replacement bus to New Malden to avoid paying more to travel.
If you’re travelling towards Woking
During the closure, customers travelling from Berrylands towards Woking should use the rail replacement bus to Surbiton to avoid paying more to travel.
Regular connecting rail services will operate to and from both New Malden and Surbiton stations.
Tapping in and out
While the station is closed, customers must not tap in or out at Berrylands and only tap in or out at the stations where they start or finish their journeys.
Rail replacement bus services
While the station is closed, buses will run to New Malden and Surbiton every 30 minutes, departing from bus stops A and B on Surbiton Hill Park, a short walk from Berrylands station.
Journeys are expected to take approximately 12 minutes and will run as follows:
Berrylands to New Malden (from The Berrylands, stop B)
*This service will also call at Raynes Park and Wimbledon.
**This service will also call at Wimbledon.
Berrylands to Surbiton (from The Berrylands, stop A)
Surbiton to Berrylands (from the station forecourt)
Please note from Monday 25 May buses will leave from the back of the station - Glenbuck Road side.
Ticketing
The ticket office at Berrylands is closed during the improvement programme.
The station's ticket vending machine is available, however it is only accepting card payments. Between the hours of 0620 and 1010, Monday to Friday, an SWR colleague will be available to support customers.
Facilities and parking
The station toilets and the station car park are closed during the improvement programme. Toilets and car parking are available at both New Malden and Surbiton.
