Easy access to airports on our network means hassle free and sustainable travel

Getting to and from the airport is easy with South Western Railway, whether you're heading abroad for a family holiday or making an important business trip.

Please allow a minimum of 10 minutes to connect between your train and any bus or coach to Heathrow Airport. Journey times will be affected by traffic, especially during morning and evening peak times.

Train to Southampton Airport

You can easily reach Southampton Airport from Southampton Airport (Parkway) station – only 99 steps separate the station and the terminal, making it one of the easiest airport transfers in the country. There are regular direct trains to and from Weymouth, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Basingstoke and London. There are also direct CrossCountry services to Reading, Oxford, the Midlands and the North.

Train to Heathrow Airport

Heathrow is well-served from our stations, with options to change at Guildford, Reading, Feltham and Woking for coach and bus services. You can buy combined train and coach tickets for most journeys. Children under 16 travel half-price on coach services, and there are discounts for group travel too.

Train to Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport train station is within the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport, with direct trains to Brighton and Central London, including St Pancras International for Eurostar.

Train to Stansted Airport

Stansted Airport is easily accessed by RailAir coach route A7 from London Waterloo, saving multiple tube changes. Coaches run every 20 minutes from National Express Coach stop F outside the County Hall. The journey to Stansted Airport takes around 70 minutes.

 

Train to Bournemouth Airport

An occasional shuttle bus runs direct from Bournemouth station to Bournemouth Airport. Morebus 737 departs from stand 2 at the Travel Interchange (exit the station through platform three). The journey time is approximately 45 minutes.

Train to Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport is just 7 miles from Bristol City Centre. The Airport Flyer bus service (route A2) runs every 30 minutes from stop TD outside Bristol Temple Meads station. Child and Railcard discounts are available on combined rail and bus tickets, and the journey takes just 25 minutes.

Train to Exeter Airport

Exeter Airport is around 5.5 miles from Exeter St Davids station and there’s a regular bus service. The airport falls within the Exeter PlusBus area, and child and Railcard discounts are available on combined rail and bus tickets.

Stagecoach route 56 runs hourly, departing from the station forecourt. The journey to the airport takes around 25 minutes.
