To use it, any adult (aged 16 or over) should travel with at least one child (aged 5-15) - but you can get a discount for up to four adults and four children travelling together with one railcard!
How much does a Family and Friends Railcard cost?
Family and Friends railcard discounts include saving you 1/3 on up to 4 adult fares and 60% on up to 4 kids tickets (between 5 and 15 years old) anywhere in the country. You can have two named adults on your railcard, so if one cardholder isn’t using it, the other can!
A passport-size photo of yourself and the other cardholder is required in a digital format if applying online or a printed photo if applying at the station.
How long does it take to get a Family & Friends Railcard?
If you are applying online for a physical railcard you should allow 5 working days for your application to be to be approved and 5 working days for delivery. You can also pay for Special Delivery service if you would like your railcard to be delivered within two days. Digital railcards and those bought at the station can be obtained on the same day.
