Discounted fares

Cheaper tickets for disabled passengers

We want to make sure our disabled passengers have hassle free and comfortable journeys and have a range of discount options. So if you qualify for a Disabled Persons Railcard you and a friend, helper or companion can get a discount too.

There are further options available too...

Concessionary fares

If you are registered visually-impaired and travel with a companion, you are entitled to these discounts:

  • 34% off Standard or First Class Anytime Single or Return tickets
  • 34% off Standard or First Class Anytime Day Single tickets
  • 50% off Standard or First Class Anytime Day Return tickets

If you travel in your own wheelchair, even if you don’t have a Disabled Persons Railcard, the same discounts apply to you and a companion. These discounts are only available from the ticket office, our commercial guards or revenue inspectors. Please contact our Customer Service Centre for more information or visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

Season tickets

If you are registered blind or visually impaired, you can buy an adult Season ticket which allows a companion to travel with you at no additional cost. It does not have to be the same person on every journey. You can buy these tickets online or at a staffed station.

For more information see our Season Ticket section.
