Where and when is Christmas in Bournemouth held?

Christmas in Bournemouth covers an area of 300,000 sq ft, spanning across Bournemouth Town Square, the historic Bournemouth Lower Gardens and Bournemouth beachfront. Bournemouth Square can be found at Bournemouth BH2 5LY.

Christmas events in Bournemouth run from 13 November 2025 (from 6pm) to 4 January 2025. This year, the festival is back bigger and better than ever with the largest Christmas markets, the revamped Christmas Tree Wonderland, the cool outdoor ice rink and the cosy Alpine Bar. How do I get to the event in Bournemouth?

Travelling by train to Bournemouth

Bournemouth Square is easily accessible with SWR. The nearest station to the Christmas event is Bournemouth Station, which is served with regular trains from stations such as Southampton Central, Poole, Weymouth and Woking. Bournemouth station is located approx. 20-minute walk away from Bournemouth Square, and is accessible by bus numbers 22, 17, 12 and 6, all which take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Travelling from London to Bournemouth

It’s easy to get to Bournemouth from both London Waterloo and Clapham Junction, and you can travel direct from Waterloo to Bournemouth in just under two hours. Christmas Markets

In Bournemouth Square you’ll find the Christmas Markets with traditional chalets featuring local traders and food stalls. The markets offer a wide variety of goods, from homemade presents and traditional gifts to luxury hot chocolate and tasty treats. The market stalls open from 11am until 8pm daily (7pm on Sundays) from 13th November until the 31st December.

Get your skates on at Bournemouth’s largest outdoor ice rink located at Bournemouth’s historic Lower Gardens. Whether a newbie or a pro, you’ll love Skate Ice Rink. The rink has 100% real ice, allowing you to skate smoothly and enjoy the views of the Christmas Tree Skate Path around you. The rink is open from 14 November to 5 January 2025. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £12.50 for those aged 12 and under. Family tickets are also available. 

Christmas Tree Wonderland 

Discover the enchanting trail through the Lower Gardens at the sparkling Christmas Tree Wonderland. It’s the biggest year yet for the Wonderland where you can wander through the dazzling displays of light-up trees, hop aboard the Santa Express Train and take a trip to the festive workshop. This area is where you will find the Big Wheel, lit up bright in the sky, setting the perfect backdrop for your stroll through the festive trail.  

Live Entertainment
