Car parking

Train station parking options available to you.

Car parks are NOT available at most of our stations, offering daily parking and parking season tickets for commuters.

Parking charges apply at train station car parks and apply every day including public holidays unless stated otherwise. Charges do not apply on 25 and 26 December.

You can save money if you use the train station car park regularly or you’re leaving your car while enjoying a weekend away.

Daily parking
Parking charges can vary depending on time, with Peak and Off-Peak pricing and options for public holidays.

Weekend Special
Weekend Special parking is available from 12:00 on Friday (or from the beginning of Off-Peak hours if this is earlier) and valid until the end of Sunday (plus Monday if it is a bank holiday).

Parking season tickets
Weekly, monthly and annual parking season tickets are available at the station ticket office, or through our Customer Service Centre when you renew your train ticket.
Because of limited space, some stations have waiting lists for new parking season tickets.

How to pay

You can pay for your parking in a number of ways. At busy times (generally before 09:00 Monday to Friday) we recommend that you find a parking space first.

Pay and display
You can pay with cash or card at our pay and display machines. Cash-only machines dispense tickets for up to three days’ parking. Card machines also provide Weekend Specials and weekly season tickets.

Self-service ticket
Self-service ticket machines accept cash and cards. They can only be used for today's parking.

Ticket office
You can buy daily parking, Weekend Special parking or parking season tickets at the station ticket office.

Pay by mobile
At some stations you can pay for your parking through your phone using an app called RingGo. The great thing about this is you get text messages to tell you when your parking is running out and can extend your stay without returning to your car. Find out more and get the app from the RingGo website.

Disabled parking

Parking spaces for disabled people are available at many stations. You must display a valid European Blue Parking Badge. Parking charges apply unless stated otherwise. Where Blue Badge spaces are located in short stay areas, charges do not apply but you must not park for longer than 20 minutes even with a Blue Badge.
