Strikes to disrupt South Western Railway’s services on Thursday 26 July

Wednesday 25th July 2018
• South Western Railway plans to run two thirds of its normal services
• Passengers are strongly advised to check their journey before they travel

South Western Railway will run a reduced service on most of its lines during the RMT strike on Thursday 26 July.

Although we have done everything that we can to minimise the impact of the strike on customers some services will be cancelled or delayed, and others will be busier than usual. Overall we plan to run two thirds of our normal capacity.

We have published details of our services, including alternative travel arrangements, on our website. Passengers are strongly advised to check their journey before they travel.

The strike timetable can be found on our website: https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/industrial-action.

Commenting on the strike a South Western Railway spokesperson said:
"We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption to our customers and plan to deliver two thirds of our normal capacity on Thursday 26 July. We are using all available resources including contingency guards, providing replacement bus services, arranging ticket acceptance on a number of other rail and bus networks and running as many trains as possible at maximum length to provide as much capacity as possible."

The RMT has further strikes planned during the Summer:

• Saturday 28th July
• Tuesday 31st July
• Saturday 4th August
• Saturday 11th August
• Saturday 18th August
