Reduced-price travel and scholar season tickets for students studying in Surrey

The Surrey Student Fare Card allows you to buy a reduced-price season ticket for travel between home and school/college. It also saves you money on evening travel, so you can still afford those chips on the way home from an evening with your mates!

Do I qualify for a Surrey Student Fare Card?
If you:
  • Live in one of the 11 boroughs and districts making up Surrey,
  • attend a full-time education course, and
  • are aged between 16 and 18 (under 19 on 1 September in the year of application)
Then you can apply for a Surrey Student Fare Card. Students can apply 28 days in advance of their 16th birthday.

How much does the Surrey Student Fare Card cost?
The card costs £25, and is valid until 31 August of that academic year.

What discounts do I get?
You'll get 1/3 off a season ticket between home and your school/college, and off tickets for leisure journeys after 18:00 and on weekends. Journeys need to start/end in Surrey and travel on routes on the train network map.

How do I apply for a Surrey Student Fare Card?
You can register and apply online for a student fare card which will then be sent to your school and college for collection.
