  Track and structural renewals work: buses replace trains to / from Portsmouth Harbour from Saturday 28 March to Thursday 2 April

  Locations Affected:

  Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads and Portsmouth Harbour, and between Cardiff Central / Bristol Parkway / Bristol Temple Meads and Portsmouth & Southsea

  South Western Railway between London Waterloo / Eastleigh / Woking / Guildford / Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour, and between Southampton Central and Portsmouth & Southsea

  Southern between London Victoria and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour, between Gatwick Airport and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour, between Brighton and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour and between Littlehampton and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour

  Engineering work is taking place between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour, closing all lines.

  Buses will replace trains between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour

  South Western Railway:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour
  • Havant and Portsmouth Harbour

  Southern:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour
  • Havant and Portsmouth Harbour

  These buses will be operated by South Western Railway, however Southern tickets will be accepted at no extra cost.

  Trains will run between Brighton and Southampton Central, and between London Victoria and Havant.

  Engineering work is taking place in the Queenstown Road (Battersea) area, closing some lines.

  No trains will run to / from Queenstown Road (Battersea).

  A reduced train service will run between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.

  You can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Buses / London Underground to / from Queenstown Road (Battersea).

  Locations Affected:

  Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Paignton / Plymouth / Penzance, and between Gloucester / Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth

  Engineering work is taking place between Westbury and Taunton, closing all lines.

  Great Western Railway:

  Friday:

  From 18:00 on Friday until the end of service, buses will replace trains between:

  • Westbury and Castle Cary (via Frome / Bruton)
  • Castle Cary and Taunton

  Long distance trains between London and Exeter / Plymouth / Penzance will be retimed by a few minutes, and diverted to run via Bristol Temple Meads (not calling).

  Saturday and Sunday:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Westbury and Castle Cary (via Frome / Bruton)
  • Castle Cary and Taunton

  Long distance trains between London and Exeter / Plymouth / Penzance will be retimed by a few minutes, and diverted to run via Bristol Temple Meads (additionally calling).

  South Western Railway:

  From 18:00 on Friday until the end of Sunday:

  No trains will run between Westbury and Castle Cary.

  Replacement buses will run between Westbury and Castle Cary.

  South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Southampton Central / Bournemouth / Poole / Weymouth, between Salisbury and Romsey / Salisbury, and between Southampton Central and Portsmouth & Southsea

  Engineering work is taking place between Winchester and Southampton Central, closing all lines.

  CrossCountry:

  Friday to Monday:

  Trains will be diverted, extending journey times by up to 60 minutes, and will not call at Winchester or Southampton Airport Parkway.

  You can use South Western Railway services for travel to / from Winchester / Southampton Airport Parkway.

  South Western Railway:

  Friday to Monday:

  Buses replace trains between:

  • Winchester and Southampton Central / Fareham
  • Romsey and Southampton Central via Eastleigh

  Great Western Railway:

  Friday and Saturday:

  The 21:23 Portsmouth Harbour to Bristol Temple Meads service will divert between Fareham and Southampton Central (via Netley, not calling). It will not call at Eastleigh or Southampton Central. It will run to normal times departing Southampton Central and beyond.

  For Eastleigh and Southampton Airport Parkway, you should travel by alternative services.

  Sunday:

  The 19:34 Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth Harbour will divert between Southampton Central and Fareham (via Netley – not calling). It will not call at Southampton Airport Parkway, Eastleigh, Botley or Hedge End. The train will arrive / depart Fareham and beyond earlier than normal.

  For Southampton Airport Parkway, Eastleigh, Botley and Hedge End, you should travel by alternative services.

  Monday:

  The 21:21 Bristol Parkway to Portsmouth & Southsea will divert between Southampton Central and Fareham (via Netley – not calling). It will call at Fareham and beyond approximately 13 minutes earlier than normal.

  The 21:23 Portsmouth Harbour to Westbury service will divert between Fareham and Southampton Central (via Netley, not calling). It will not call at Eastleigh or Southampton Central. It will run to normal times departing Southampton Central and beyond.

  For Eastleigh and Southampton Airport Parkway, you should travel by alternative services.

  Buses replace late night trains from 22:10 on Saturday 11 until 16:00 on Sunday 12 April

  Locations Affected:

  Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Paignton / Plymouth / Penzance, and between Gloucester / Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth

  South Western Railway between Salisbury and yevil Junction

  Engineering work is taking place from 22:10 on Saturday until 15:10 on Sunday between Westbury and Castle Cary, closing all lines.

  Great Western Railway:

  Saturday:

  The 22:15 and 23:06 Bristol Temple Meads to Frome will terminate Westbury. A replacement bus service will operate at 23:12 and 00:03 (Sunday) from Westbury to Frome taking 20 minutes.

  The 23:16 Frome to Westbury will not run and will be replaced by a bus at 23:37 from Frome to Westbury taking 20 minutes.

  Sunday:

  Until 10:00:

  The 09:00 Westbury to Weymouth will start from Castle Cary. An earlier replacement bus will depart from Westbury, Frome and Bruton to connect into the train.

  The 08:01 Weymouth to Cardiff Central will terminate Castle Cary (and restart Westbury). A replacement bus will depart from Castle Cary, Bruton and Frome to Westbury for later rail connection to Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central.

  From 10:00 until approximately 15:00:

  Trains between Bristol Temple Meads / Swindon and Frome / Weymouth will terminate / start at Westbury.

  Trains between Westbury and Frome will not run.

  A replacement bus service will operate between Westbury and Frome taking 25 minutes.

  Trains will then operate between Frome and stations to / from Weymouth.

  After 15:00:

  Some minor amendments, trains will then operate to a normal timetable.

  South western Railway:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Westbury and Castle Cary

  Buses will replace trains between Eastleigh and Southampton Central / Bournemouth

  Great Western Railway:

  Trains between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour will divert between Romsey and Fareham (via Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh where they will call additionally). They will not call at Southampton Central. You should change at Eastleigh for road transport between Eastleigh and Southampton Central taking 20 to 25 minutes.

  South Western Railway:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Eastleigh and Bournemouth
  • Eastleigh and Brockenhurst
  • Eastleigh and Romsey
  • Southampton Central and Bournemouth

  Sunday:

  Buses replace trains in the Pewsey / Westbury / Castle Cary area on Sunday 19 April

  Locations Affected:

  All Great Western Railway services to / from / via Westbury

  South Western Railway between Yeovil Junction and Salisbury

  Engineering work is taking place in the Westbury area, closing all lines.

  Great Western Railway:

  Buses will replace trains between:

  • Pewsey and Swindon (to connect with diverted long distance services)
  • Westbury and Frome
  • Castle Cary and Taunton

  Long distance services between London and South West England will be diverted to run via Swindon / Bristol Parkway instead of running via Westbury. These diverted trains will call at Reading to pick up when running from London, and to drop off when running towards London.

  An amended and reduced train service will run between Frome and Castle Cary.

  Additionally:

  • The 08:06 Reading to Newbury will not run, and will be replaced by a bus. This bus will not call at Newbury Racecourse, and will connect with the amended 08:33 Reading to Bedwyn service (see below)
  • The 08:33 Reading to Bedwyn service will start from Newbury at 09:02

  South Western Railway:

  The 09:46 Yeovil Junction to Salisbury service will not run, and will be replaced by a bus.
