Busiest parts of our network
The busiest parts of our network are in the London area in the morning peak (06:30 to 09:00) and evening peak (16:00 to 19:00).
Our suburban services through Stoneleigh, Worcester Park, Motspur Park & Raynes Park through to Wimbledon, Clapham Junction & Waterloo are currently some of the busiest in the morning peak. If you are travelling from these stations, you may not be able to find a seat. However alternative services may have more space for example at Motspur Park and Raynes Park in particular, services from Chessington are likely to be quieter than services from Epsom and Guildford.
Additionally, services through Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Hersham, Esher and Surbiton are also busy in the morning peak, which may mean seats may not be available for part of your journey in particular, the 07:00 and 07:29 from Woking, arriving into Waterloo at 07:43 and 08:20 respectively, are very busy.
In order to respond to the high demand at Weybridge and Walton-on-Thames we have added stops to some services:
- The 0641 service from Alton to London Waterloo will call at Walton-on-Thames at 0728.
- The 0706 service from Basingstoke to London Waterloo will call at Weybridge at 0742.
For services from Reading, the 07:10 service which arrives into Waterloo at 08:38, is also very busy.
