Extreme Weather: Compensation

Extreme Weather: Compensation

Wednesday 07th March 2018

We're very sorry for the disruption on parts of our network towards the end of last week, when severe weather conditions impacted South Western Railway services and your journeys.

On Friday 2nd March, we did not offer a train, or rail replacement, service between Southampton and Weymouth, and Salisbury and Exeter stations. If you held a ticket and intended to travel from stations within these areas, and you have not done so already, we would like to remind you that you are entitled to Delay Repay compensation.

How to claim compensation
Create an account (personal details and payment preferences are stored securely) and provide the details of the journey you planned to make.
You will then be shown a number of journey options. Select “My train is not shown above”, which is the last option on the list.
A free text field will then display where you should state “advised not to travel”. It’s important you do this before completing all other details and submitting your claim form.

If you follow these instructions, our processing team will be able to identify your submission for processing – otherwise your claim may be incorrectly rejected. Alternatively, paper forms are available at any of our staffed stations. The process is almost identical - you should use the free text box to identify yourself as “advised not to travel”.

Make your claim now

We’d like to apologise once again for the inconvenience and look forward to hearing from you so that we can process your claim as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Alan Penlington
