South Western Railway service information for 72hour RMT strike

Tuesday 28th August 2018
  • Despite RMT industrial action, SWR will keep passengers moving with around two thirds of normal services scheduled for Friday 31 August.
  • Approximately 50% of normal Saturday and Sunday services are planned to run on 1 and 2 September.
  • Some additional services will be provided compared with previous RMT weekend strike days, including for customers travelling to the Bournemouth Air Festival and between Salisbury and Yeovil.

Bus replacement services will also be provided, and ticket acceptance has been arranged on several other rail and bus networks.
Customers can find full service information for Friday 31 August, including timetables, here:  https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/industrial-action

Maps for Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 September have also been published, with further service information and timetables to be confirmed and uploaded on Thursday.

A South Western Railway Spokesperson said:

“As the RMT persists with this unnecessary action on the final weekend of the summer holidays, we are working hard to keep customers moving and minimise disruption as much as possible.

“Customers should check before they travel and expect services to be much busier than normal.”
