Refunds

Get money back on unused train tickets

If you decide not travel or the train you planned to catch was cancelled or delayed, and you didn’t travel you may be entitled to a refund.

You must apply for a refund on your ticket within 28 days of the ticket expiry.

The amount refunded will take into account any use you’ve had from your ticket, and we may charge an administration fee of £10 per refund request.

Some tickets, such as advance fares may not be eligible for a refund and separate terms and conditions apply to sale of these fares.

If you purchased your ticket from :

  • A South Western Railway station, at the ticket office or from one of our ticket machines. This includes tickets for journeys not on South Western Railway but sold at one of our stations.  Return your ticket to the ticket office where they will arrange your refund.
