The investment has unlocked the facilities for the community, allowing for far more potential uses.

Mark Youngman, Customer and Communities Improvement Fund Manager at South Western Railway said:

“We are delighted to complete this makeover of the Hub in Petersfield. We understand the pivotal role the Hub plays in the community for both locals and visitors to the area, and we are pleased that we were able to help transform the facilities, unlocking an expansion of community services offered by the Hub and Community Rail Partnership.”

Mark Miller, East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership Officer, said:

“This has been a fantastic project and we are thrilled with the investment put into the Hub by South Western Railway.

“East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership has been running the Tourist Information Point and Free Shop facility at the Hub for the past few years on a lease from SWR and this investment meets many of our aspirations to enhance facilities so that we can encourage more community use of the Hub.

“It has been great working in partnership with SWR and we are so grateful for the improvements made. We look forward to further collaborative projects in the future.”
