SWR launches summer edition of Welcome Hosts at Salisbury and Bournemouth stations

Tuesday 24th August 2021

South Western Railway (SWR) has extended its concierge service, SWR Welcome Hosts, to support and reassure customers as they return to the railway.

Initially launched in April this year at a number of stations across the network, the initiative has now been rolled out at Salisbury and Bournemouth stations in order to provide customers with a new way to ask any travel enquiries or advice.

SWR Welcome Hosts have a designated area which customers will see as they enter selected stations and will be on hand throughout the day to answer customer questions, provide reassurance, and share tips for safe travel on the railway, amongst other transport related enquiries.

Helping to reduce queues at both the gateline and ticket offices through the summer period as workers return to the office, SWR’s Welcome Hosts will be present at key stations from Monday to Saturday.

James Dolling, Head of Customer Experience Change Programmes at South Western Railway, commented: “With more people both taking domestic holidays and returning to the office, we want to ensure that all of our customers can travel with confidence across the network. Our Welcome Hosts are a great addition to the service that we provide, and they look forward to welcoming customers back to the railway.”
