Ascot station team scoops South Western Railway award

  • Ceremony held in Southampton on Friday 20 April 

The Ascot station team is celebrating this week after they scooped a customer service award from South Western Railway. Representatives from the team were presented with the award along with a number of their colleagues who were also honoured.

Station Manager Manoj Bhardwaj said: “The Ascot team always sets the highest standards to ensure everything is safe and secure for big race event days. During big events, the team is focused on getting customers moving as quickly as possible.”

He added that the team at Ascot - Sarah Backhouse, Chrissie Tregear, Syed Ahmed, Trevor Thomas, Anthony Howard, Rosemary Gomes and Alex Lewis were all “professional and dedicated to the job”.

Andy Mellors, South Western Railway’s Managing Director, said: “I am proud of all of our Excellence Awards winners who have provided first class customer service over the past year. They represent the very best of our company values and clearly love the work that they do.

“We can only recognise a small number of our employees at these awards but we know we have dedicated teams across the entire South Western Railway network who go the extra mile every day.”

On receiving the award the Station Manager, Manoj Bhardwaj, said on behalf of his team: “I’m delighted that the Ascot team has been recognised in this way. We always work together to ensure event days go smoothly and so it’s a great feeling to be rewarded like this in front of our peers.”
