  • Dexter Hutchings wins over £1,000, the full value of his Season ticket
  • SWR’s Touch Smartcard helps customers buy and manage their tickets online
  • ‘Touch’ customers now benefit from Automated Delay Repay compensation
  • SWR is delighted to announce Dexter Hutchings, from Stoneleigh, is the final prize draw winner of South Western Railway’s ‘Renew without the Queue’ competition.

Mr Hutchings won just over £1,000, the full value of his Monthly Plus Season ticket, after switching to the Touch Smartcard.

Switching is free, easy, and has many benefits. Customers buy and manage their Season or Single and Return journey tickets online with the Touch Smartcard, so there’s no need to queue for a paper ticket ever again.

Mr Hutchings’ switch means he also benefits from Automated Delay Repay compensation if his service is delayed by 15 minutes or more. London Travelcards can also be added to the card, allowing customers to tap ‘in-and-out’ at tube stations across the City’s transport network.

Mr Hutchings, on wining the full value of his season ticket, said:
"I opted to renew my Season ticket through the Touch Smartcard as it was more convenient. I had seen there was the opportunity to win back the price of your ticket but didn’t think much of it. So, I was delighted to learn that I was April’s winner!

"I have just come back from a holiday, the extra money means I can book another trip!"

Peter Williams, SWR Commercial and Business Development Director, said:
"Congratulations to Dexter for winning back the full value of his Season ticket.

"Smart ticketing is faster, more secure and easier as customers can buy and manage their tickets online with the Touch Smartcard. Queuing for a paper ticket is now a thing of the past!

"The introduction of Automated Delay Repay for Season ticket customers using the Touch Smartcard is another great benefit. It makes travelling simpler and more convenient than ever before."
