Events at Royal Victoria Country Park

Just a 10 minute walk from Netley Station

Just a 10 minute walk from Netley Station you’ll find Royal Victoria Country Park; over 200 acres of beautiful parkland and woodland on the shores of Southampton water.  A wonderful place to visit for all the family with a café, adventure play area, miniature railway, woodland walks, annual events programme and plenty of space for picnics, games and kite flying.

The park was once the site of the British Army’s first purpose-built hospital of which its chapel and a few other buildings still remain.  The chapel (re-opening this summer after a major refurbishment project) is home to a fascinating exhibition on the history of the hospital.
